Labour Law – Representing unions in labour relations matters, including arbitrations and Board applications.
Human rights law – particularly discrimination in the employment context.


Satkaran returned to the firm as an Associate Lawyer in 2019 after previously working with VSLO as a summer Law Co-op Student in 2018. She completed her articles at a large BC union where she gained broad experience working on arbitrations, labour relations board and BC Supreme Court matters. During her articles, Satkaran also completed a secondment at the Indigenous Community Legal Clinic, successfully resolving a complex small claims matter.

During her legal education, Satkaran completed the University of Victoria’s Law Co-op Program during which she completed work placements at the litigation and appeals branch of the Ministry of Children and Family Development and a large BC union. Satkaran also completed a clinical work experience term during which she provided pro bono legal services at a family law clinic in Vancouver, assisting individuals who self-identified as women with all their family law needs in an accessible manner. Her major paper focused on the rights and ability of temporary foreign workers to access employment standards legislation in BC and the need for major reforms.

Satkaran is passionate about fighting for the rights of unions and workers and looks forward to assisting them resolve their legal matters.
